Butyl Dry Box Gloves

Overview

Inert's Butyl glove for use in glove boxes is made of a Butyl layer. The elastomer is an isoprene/isobutylene copolymer rubber.  Butyl, with its low permeability to gas and resistance to chemical products, permits utilization in toxic liquid up to 5 hours.

 

Handling Advice

 

This Butyl glove is particularly recommended for:

 

  • Oxidizing products
  • Concentrated nitric acid
  • Concentrated hydrochloric acid
  • Ammonia
  • Concentrated alkalis
  • Alcohols
  • Ketonic solvent
  • Sterilizing product, like peracetic acid
  • Chemical products, like Yperite

 

It allows operating in high oxidizing environments including active oxygen and/or free radicals.

 

This Butyl glove is not suitable for handling:

 

  • Gasoline
  • Aromatic solvent
  • Oil and plasticizer
